Dehydrated Cucumber Chips- with 5 Flavor Options!

Ingredients

  • Sliced Cucumbers
  • Olive Oil
  • Variety of spices (listed below)
  • Dehydrator

Instructions

  1. Slice the cucumbers nice and thin. I use a mandolin slicer on the thinnest setting to get uniform slices.
  2. Toss the cucumber slices in 1-2 tsp of oil OR vinegar
  3. Place the slices on your dehydrator trays- close but not touching.
  4. Sprinkle with spices or flavorings- see below for 5 flavor options!
  5. Turn on the dehydrator to 135*F and set for about 4-6 hours or until completely dry and crisp.
  6. Store the cucumber chips in an air tight container so that they retain their crispness.

Recipe Notes

BBQ Cucumber Chips: In a small bowl combine the following: 1 T paprika, 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, dash chili powder, 2 tsp sugar. Sprinkle over cucumber slices before dehydrating.

Salt and Vinegar Cucumber Chips: Toss your cucumber slices in 2 tsp olive oil and 2 T vinegar (white, cider, white balsamic). Place in the dehydrator and sprinkle with coarse sea salt before dehydrating

Salt and Pepper Cucumber Chips: Toss the cucumber slices in 2 tsp of olive oil. Sprinkle freshly ground pepper and sea salt over the slices before dehydrating.

Ranch Cucumber Chips: In a small bowl combine the following- 1 T buttermilk powder, 1 tsp dried parsley, 1 tsp dried chives, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/4 tsp dried dill, dash of salt and pepper. Sprinkle over slices before dehydrating. *Alternately sprinkle prepackaged Ranch seasoning mix on the cucumber slices.

Sour Cream and Onion Cucumber Chips: In a small bowl combine the following- 1 T buttermilk powder or dry milk powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp dill, 1/2 tsp dried parsley, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar. Toss your cucumber slices in oil and sprinkle with this mixture before dehydrating.
